Our laser technology here at Lake Martin Vein & Laser Center treats many conditions, including spider veins. Laser treatment is ideal for those areas that can not be treated with sclerotherapy, such as the face. During laser treatment, laser energy is applied to the veins, causing them to coagulate and shrink. Eventually, they will be absorbed by your body and disappear permanently. Laser treatments are generally pain free and you are able to resume your normal activities immediately following treatment.
If you have spider veins that are too small for sclerotherapy or are in a location that is difficult for laser to be effective, our Veinwave technology could be the answer you are seeking. Veinwave technology uses a very fine needle to pinpoint those tiny spider veins, and through thermocoagulation, heat causes the walls of the vein to collapse, eliminating that vein. Veinwave treatments can be performed in the office in as little as 30 minutes. The treatments are virtually painless, and have no lingering side effects. There is no downtime for this procedure and you may resume normal daily activity immediately after receiving this treatment.

Who is a candidate for laser spider vein treatment?
Almost anyone can undergo spider vein treatment, but a consultation with a physician will let you know if laser therapy is the best treatment option for you as an individual.
How soon will I see results?
You may see some decrease in the amount of spider veins immediately following treatment, but you will see more improvement over a period of several weeks as your
body breaks down and eliminates the treated spider veins.
Are results permanent?
Results are permanent, however, you may have new spider veins appear.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments varies by patient and the amount of existing spider veins. On average, one can expect of four treatment at 6-8 week intervals.
Who is a candidate for Veinwave treatments?

Because the hair in different areas of your body grows in different cycles at different rates, it is best to follow the guidelines shown below:

How often can laser tattoo removal be performed?
It is best to wait at least 6 weeks between treatments. Because the laser is only breaking down the pigment and your body is expelling the ink, it is a process that will take some time. For even better results, and possibly fewer treatments, you may try waiting 8-12 weeks between treatments.
Can all colors in a tattoo be removed?
Most colors can be treated and fade significantly. Black, red, and dark blue can most times be completely removed. Purples and oranges typically respond well to treatment, while yellows and greens may take more than the average number of treatments, but will more than likely fade to a point where it is not easily seen.

Who should consider MicroLaser Peel?

How does MicroLaser Peel differ from microdermabrasion or chemical peels?
Typically, microdermabrasion will only affect the outer layer of skin (10-15) microns, while the MicroLaser Peel is targeted to the deeper epidermal layers (20-50 microns) for better results. In comparison to deeper chemical peels, the MicroLaser Peel is more ideal for patients looking for good results with less downtime.
How many treatments will I need?
Because the treatment plan varies by patient and their desired results, we are unable to provide you with an exact number of treatments. Our physician will be able to give you a more direct answer after a consultation.
How long is the healing process?
The healing process is relatively quick and the estimated downtime for this peel is approximately 3-5 days. MicroLaser Peel is often times called the Weekend Peel, because patients are able to have the procedure performed on a Thursday or Friday and easily return to work by Monday.
What should patients expect following treatment?
Immediately following treatment, the treated area may feel sunburned for the first day. By the second day minor sloughing may occur. Redness should start to fade by the third day and be easily covered with makeup by the fourth day.
Will anesthesia be administered?
A topical anesthesia will be applied 30-45 minutes before the procedure.
