Our laser technology here at Lake Martin Vein & Laser Center treats many conditions, including spider veins. Laser treatment is ideal for those areas that can not be treated with sclerotherapy, such as the face. During laser treatment, laser energy is applied to the veins, causing them to coagulate and shrink. Eventually, they will be absorbed by your body and disappear permanently. Laser treatments are generally pain free and you are able to resume your normal activities immediately following treatment.
If you have spider veins that are too small for sclerotherapy or are in a location that is difficult for laser to be effective, our Veinwave technology could be the answer you are seeking. Veinwave technology uses a very fine needle to pinpoint those tiny spider veins, and through thermocoagulation, heat causes the walls of the vein to collapse, eliminating that vein. Veinwave treatments can be performed in the office in as little as 30 minutes. The treatments are virtually painless, and have no lingering side effects. There is no downtime for this procedure and you may resume normal daily activity immediately after receiving this treatment.
Who is a candidate for laser spider vein treatment?
Almost anyone can undergo spider vein treatment, but a consultation with a physician will let you know if laser therapy is the best treatment option for you as an individual.
How soon will I see results?
You may see some decrease in the amount of spider veins immediately following treatment, but you will see more improvement over a period of several weeks as your
body breaks down and eliminates the treated spider veins.
Are results permanent?
Results are permanent, however, you may have new spider veins appear.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments varies by patient and the amount of existing spider veins. On average, one can expect of four treatment at 6-8 week intervals.
Who is a candidate for Veinwave treatments?
Most individuals are candidate for Veinwave treatments. Non-candidates included individuals who are epileptic, have bleeding disorders, have a pacemaker, or women who are currently pregnant.
How soon are results visible?
Results in treatment areas such as the face, are visible almost immediately, while other treated areas may show continued signs of treatment for several days following treatment.
Are results permanent?
Veinwave results are permanent; however, this does not mean that new spider veins will not appear.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments varies by patient and the amount of veins that will be treated.
Our laser technology at Lake Martin Vein & Laser Center is great for skin tightening. If you have fine lines that you wish to eliminate, we can help. Our laser system is programmed for you as an individual to achieve your desired results.
Laser skin tightening stimulates the collagen production and regeneration in the skin layers to turn over damaged skin cells and promote new collagen growth. This will in turn result in the reduction of fine lines.
For more information, or to schedule a consultation for laser skin tightening, you may submit a contact form or call our office to request an appointment.
Who should consider laser skin tightening?
Anyone with fine lines is an ideal candidate for skin tightening.
Are the results permanent?
Results are not permanent, but can be prolonged by committing to the recommended number of sessions.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments recommended varies by patient and the desired results, but typically, 8-10 treatments are recommended for prolonged results.
If you have grown tired of shaving, plucking, and/or waxing unwanted hair, laser hair removal is something for you to consider.
Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses a laser to target individual hair follicles and inhibit the growth of hair. This procedure is most effective for patients with dark hair. If you have white, grey, light blond, or even red hair, you may not be a candidate for this procedure.
The number of treatments required to achieve the desired results vary by patient, but most experience a noticeable difference after approximately 5 or 6 treatments. The number can prolong the results, but you may consider treatments to maintain the results every six or twelve months.
For more information, or to schedule a consultation for laser hair removal, you may submit a contact form or call our office to request an appointment.
Who is a candidate for laser hair removal?
The best patients for laser hair removal are individuals with dark colored hair. The treatments may not be as effective on blonde, gray, white, or red hair.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments required varies by patient and their desired results. For best results, be sure to follow through with the recommended number of treatments and maintenance recommendations.
How often can laser hair removal be performed?
Because the hair in different areas of your body grows in different cycles at different rates, it is best to follow the guidelines shown below:
Face and Neck: 4-6 week intervals
Neck to Waist & Bikini Area: 6-8 week intervals
Legs: 8-12 week intervals
Based on recent studies, it has been found that an estimated 45 million Americans have tattoos. Seventeen percent of those individuals regret having gotten a tattoo, and eleven percent claim they have their tattoo removed or are planning to. If you fit into this category and are considering having your tattoo removed, our laser technology is just what you need.
Laser tattoo removal is a medical procedure in which a laser targets the pigmentation of a tattoo in order to break it up so that it will fade. This procedure is safe and effective for all skin types and tattoos and results in little to no scarring.
The number of treatments required to make the tattoo fade completely vary by patient as well as the size and color of your tattoo. Because all tattoos are so unique, we cannot tell you exactly how many treatments it will take, but for best results, schedule treatments approximately 4-6 weeks apart and be sure to follow through with your appointment.
For more information, or to schedule a consultation for laser tattoo removal, you may submit a contact form or call our office to request an appointment.
Is laser tattoo removal permanent?
Yes, laser tattoo removal is permanent. The laser targets the pigmentation of the tattoo and breaks it down so that your body can eliminate it naturally.
Is laser tattoo removal painful?
The feeling of laser tattoo removal is described as a rubber band snapping against your skin. Sometimes, a topical anesthetic may be applied prior to treatment for a more comfortable experience.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments required varies by patient, as well as the size and color of the tattoo. A consultation with our physician will give you a better idea of the number of treatments you will need.
How often can laser tattoo removal be performed?
It is best to wait at least 6 weeks between treatments. Because the laser is only breaking down the pigment and your body is expelling the ink, it is a process that will take some time. For even better results, and possibly fewer treatments, you may try waiting 8-12 weeks between treatments.
Can all colors in a tattoo be removed?
Most colors can be treated and fade significantly. Black, red, and dark blue can most times be completely removed. Purples and oranges typically respond well to treatment, while yellows and greens may take more than the average number of treatments, but will more than likely fade to a point where it is not easily seen.
If you have unsightly acne scars or uneven skin tone due to dark age spots or sun spots, and are seeking treatment for these issues, the MicroLaser Peel would be a great option for you to consider.
MicroLaser Peel is one of the newest technologies in skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. It is a minimal to full epidermal laser peel targeted to remove the outermost layers of the skin. A MicroLaser Peel is customized for each individual patient and tailored to the specific conditions they would like to have improved.
Because the conditions and the severity of those conditions vary by patient, we can not give an estimated number of treatments. We will be able to give you more information on which treatment option will be best suited for you and the approximate number of treatments after a consultation with our physician.
For more information, or to schedule a consultation for a micro laser peel, you may submit a contact form or call our office to request an appointment.
Who should consider MicroLaser Peel?
Anyone with unwanted acne scars, dark sun or age spots, or fine lines or wrinkles is an ideal candidate for this procedure.
How does MicroLaser Peel differ from microdermabrasion or chemical peels?
Typically, microdermabrasion will only affect the outer layer of skin (10-15) microns, while the MicroLaser Peel is targeted to the deeper epidermal layers (20-50 microns) for better results. In comparison to deeper chemical peels, the MicroLaser Peel is more ideal for patients looking for good results with less downtime.
How many treatments will I need?
Because the treatment plan varies by patient and their desired results, we are unable to provide you with an exact number of treatments. Our physician will be able to give you a more direct answer after a consultation.
How long is the healing process?
The healing process is relatively quick and the estimated downtime for this peel is approximately 3-5 days. MicroLaser Peel is often times called the Weekend Peel, because patients are able to have the procedure performed on a Thursday or Friday and easily return to work by Monday.
What should patients expect following treatment?
Immediately following treatment, the treated area may feel sunburned for the first day. By the second day minor sloughing may occur. Redness should start to fade by the third day and be easily covered with makeup by the fourth day.
Will anesthesia be administered?
A topical anesthesia will be applied 30-45 minutes before the procedure.

INTENSE PULSED LIGHT (IPL) WITH SMARTPULSE™
Photorejuvenation/photofacial, acne treatment, hair removal:
All IPL applicators include innovative SmartPulse™ technology to ensure precise and consistent energy delivery through advanced pulse optimization
Pulses of broad-spectrum light are selectively filtered and delivered into the skin, where it’s absorbed by target chromophores and transformed into therapeutic heat
As a photofacial machine, the target chromophores are oxyhemoglobin for vascular lesions and melanin for pigmented lesions in the skin
For hair removal, target is melanin in the hair shaftFor dual-light acne treatment, blue light targets the porphyrin produced by Propionibacterium Acnes bacteria, leading to destruction of the bacteria, while the longer wavelength of red light controls inflammation and promotes faster healing
Real-time cooling system monitors the light guide temperature 1,000 times a second for unparalleled patient safety and comfort
NANOFRACTIONAL RADIO FREQUENCY (RF) WITH SMARTSCAN™
Skin resurfacing:
Designed to resurface the skin, which helps reduce the appearance of acne scars, traumatic scars, striae, rosacea, dyschromia, deep wrinkles, enlarged pores, and uneven skin texture and pigmentation
Tip is one of the largest spot sizes in the industry and delivers up to 700 pulses
Energy is distributed through small footprint per pin (160 x 38 µm2) at variable energy densities in a single tip, reducing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)1 and leaving sufficient intact tissue in between, for faster wound healing, uniform post-treatment tissue appearance, and low downtime
SmartScan™ uses a unique algorithm and pattern selection technology that enables the operator to generate customized patterns for maximum flexibility and control during the treatment
(MP)2 TECHNOLOGY
Wrinkle reduction:
Unique combination of Multi-Polar Radio Frequency (RF) and Pulsed Electro Magnetic Fields (PEMF)
Multi-Polar RF uses a complex algorithm to deliver homogeneous energy and volumetric heating to multiple tissue depths, allowing for quick and safe buildup of heat and easy maintenance of therapeutic temperature throughout the treatment
Effect of Multi-Polar RF is enhanced by PEMF, a non-thermal mechanism emitted through the applicator’s electrodes
Through synergistic (MP)2, RF heats and directly stimulates fibroblasts, while PEMF is known to promote angiogenesis and induce fibroblast proliferation through release of the growth factor FGF-2, resulting in increased collagen synthesis2
(MP)2 is therefore effective in remodeling of collagen, which reduces rhytides and wrinkles3, and the creation of new capillaries, which renews blood supply4
